CAYMAN ISLANDS: Amended Bill authorises passing of beneficial ownership information to foreign governments

The Cayman Islands government has introduced further amendments to the beneficial ownership transparency regime enacted at the beginning of 2025, now authorising the Financial Services Ministry to provide information to foreign governments and authorities. The Bill also amends the list of information on individual beneficial owners that can be disclosed to the public on request. The information would include the nature of the control exercised, as well as the beneficial owner’s name, country of residence, nationality and month and year of birth. Minor beneficiaries remain excluded from the list.
