BUSINESS PRACTICE: Growth in wills and probate market
The UK market for services in wills, trusts and probate rose 7 per cent to GBP2.8 billion in the past year, according to a report by research firm IRN. Probate volumes increased by 2.9 per cent to 277,745 in 2023. Applications to register a power of attorney soared by 37 per cent to almost 1.2 million in 2023, and by 39 per cent in the first half of 2024 from the same period in 2023.
