US: SEC to develop new crypto-regulation strategy
The US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has launched a taskforce to develop a regulatory framework to establish more pragmatic and legally sound rules for digital assets, at the same time as maintaining investor protections. It has published a list of ten priorities to be addressed. It follows an executive order issued on 23 January 2025, which establishes a policy to 'support the responsible growth and use of digital assets, blockchain technology, and related technologies across all sectors of the economy'.
