BAHAMAS: Consultation imminent on beneficial owner reporting
The Bahamas government will table further amendments to the Financial Transactions Reporting Act before the May 2025 budget. The amendments will introduce extra obligations for persons with effective control over a trust, beneficial ownership reporting for companies and trusts and know-your-customer requirements. A draft of the amendment Bill is about to be released for public consultation and legislation will be enacted before October 2025.
